I Tried True Laundry Detergent: Here is My Honest Review

I was introduced to True laundry detergent around 2015, at the time I just could not get my hands on the product to use so the saying goes, out of sight out of mind. It wasn’t until I became intentional about incorporating less toxic products into my daily routine that I was reintroduced to the True Products brand and by this time I was more than ready to make a purchase.

8 years later, this leads us to 2023. I finally took the leap and made a purchase (shown below) What I could not shy away from was the 50% off deal that they offered during that time.
Even after making the purchase I kept telling myself this is just to try and it will be more convenient to purchase other brands in store. Boy was I wrong.
Long Lasting
True product Laundry detergent is 4 times concentrated so a little goes a very looong way. I did not have to make my next order until March 2024 (As of May 2024, I am still using the detergent purchased in March). That equates to about 3.5 months per 101 Fl. Oz. package. I have never seen that level of savings with other brands.
There are times when I try to fight the urge of adding 2 cups to my laundry but per the website “One of the things that you will notice about True Detergent is the fact that it has low suds. Despite skeptical views about low suds, True Laundry Detergent has proven that the amount of suds does not equal the degree of cleaning power.” So, I am learning how to not overconsume by seasoning my laundry.
Lasting Scent
When I first used this detergent although I loved the scent, it was light. Because of the light scent, I easily assumed that my clothes would not have the fresh scent we all desire. Now what do they say about assumptions? My clothes smell great out the washer. For some reason the smell is even fresher once you pull that folded shirt from the drawer. Its like the scent is marinating for you to enjoy but its not overpowering. Its described as a “fresh clean scent”
Intentional Ingredients
True laundry products are void of any caustic ingredients and animal essences thus making it a truly safe detergent for all types of machines and fabrics and also safe for the whole family. Again, I was looking for a less toxic alternative for my family and this fit the description. True laundry products meet high standards set by the Islamic community earning them HALAL Certification. Per the website, products are made without animal byproducts(enzymes), phosphorus, caustics, formaldehyde, DEA, petrochemicals or SLS and did I mention that the fabric softener is plant-based?
Discounts
True offers steep discounts on their products. I am always receiving at least a 20% discount in my inbox. They offer holiday discounts and first time user discounts, something you just won’t see from your big box brands. The owners want more people to use their products and understand that they are competing with household name brands.
Cleaning Power
True cleaning power is comparable to what you would find from more reputable brands. However, they are intentional with their ingredients. True does not increase the suds action to subconsciously make us believe that the product is working. Their products actually work. With True laundry products double washing loads is non-existent and that is a testament to the True product effectiveness. I am a True believer.
Made in the U.S and based in Atlanta, Ga, True products price, savings and effectiveness are more than enough reason to give them a try. Products only take 2 days to get to me and knowing that I am making a knowledge based purchase for my family just feels better.
